Sjoelbak, also known as Dutch Shuffleboard, is a popular board game played by both children and seniors. The object of the game is to be as accurate as possible and score as many points as possible. In Sjoelbak, you have to slide 15 wooden washers into the pockets at the end of the game board. One player slips all 15 washers, then his points are counted and it is the turn of the next player. Each pocket also has a different value (1-4 points). Another basic rule is that if you get one washer in each pocket, your score will be doubled. Therefore, it is better to try to get an equal number of washers in each gap than to target as many as possible to 4.
Example: 15 washers
in 1-point pocket- 3 washers
in 2- point pocket- 6 washers
in 3- point pocket- 4 washers
in 4-point pocket- 2 washers = 55 points
How did it come? The value of combos is (1 + 2 + 3 + 4) x 2 = 20 points. There are 2 combos. 40.
Now let's count how many points left over from the combos.
1-point pocket, 3-2 = 1 point,
2-point pocket, 6-2 = 4 points, but since this is a 2-point pocket, we multiply 4x2. 8
3-point pocket, 4-2 = 2 points, but since it's a 3-point pocket, we multiply by 2x3. 6
4- point pocket, 2-2 = 0 points. There was nothing left of it. In other words, 40 + 1 + 8 + 6 = 55 points.
The set includes 1 Sjoelbak table, and 15 washers.
