Ramp shot is played 2 vs 2. It can be played on grass, sand and also on hard surfaces.
The
Beginning. Place the
ramps 5 meters apart, facing one another. Player A1 (striker) is standing
behind one ramp, her teammate A2 (playmaker) is standing behind the other ramp.
B2 (stealer) is close to A1, as shown on the picture. B1 must have one foot
level with the ramp at the moment of the throw. B2 is passive and doesn’t get
involved right now.
Points. You can get 3 points or 1 point. The game ends at exactly 15 points.
The shooter (A1) has two balls and she throws both of them. If it goes straight to the net, team A gets three points. You can’t throw before the stealer is at position and ready.
If the ball bounces on the board and A2 catches is, team A gets one point. The ball is then placed to the net next to A2.
If the ball misses the board, it is 0 points.
Switch. B1 must always be ready, because his goal is to catch the balls that rebound on the ramp. No points are awarded, but a switch occurs- team B gets to go throwing right away + gets an extra throw.
The playmaker (A2) can’t run to the center of the field to distract the stealer (B1) and the stealer can’t run to the playmaker’s zone.
All the throwing is done from the left side until all the balls are in the opposite net. Let’s say that the score at the moment is 6-4, team A leading. The player from the leading team ( A2) starts to throw from the right side. A1 is now the playmaker, B2 is the stealer and B1 is passive.
As mentioned before, the game ends at exactly 15 points. If a team has 13 points and they get 3 points extra, they stay at 13, throwing switches to second team and they also give their remaing balls to second team.
Extra time. Let’s say team A has reached 15 points, team B has 13 points and some throws remaining in this round, they get a chance to equalize. If they do, the game continues til 21. If the game is still tied at 21, teams play one full round, whoever gets more points here, is the winner!8h | 24h | |
